It is reported by Jason Schreier that the CEO of TripWire Interactive, John Gibson, withdraws after the extreme counterpour he received for his voice support to the prohibition of abortion in Texas. This decision comes after several partners condemned comments or completely withdrawn their support.
It's definitely not a big surprise. It has been castigated in all areas for its support for the controversial prohibition of abortion that not only prohibits abortion after about six weeks, but encourages people to become vigilators trying to detect abortion clinics that have violated this law.
TripWire: His comments did not take into account the values of our entire team, our partners and a large part of our community in the broad sense. Our management team at tripwire is deeply sorry and is united in our commitment to taking quick action and promote a more positive environment. »

This is what tripwire interactive had to say on the subject:

Although we never know the real position of the reserve of the direction of Tripwire Interactive, the almost immediate withdrawal of John Gibson is a good sign. Frankly, I'm just happy that studios, such as Torn Banner Studios, Developer from Chivalry 2, now can continue to support their game without being taken between two fires here.
Tripwire Interactive has made the right choice here. It is clear that John Gibson was only problems at this point, and they had to act quickly to regain as much good will they could. Even with the speed with which they acted, I'm sure for some, and rightly, it will not be enough. With almost constant reports of abuse and crisis in the workplace, something needs to change in the industry to continue.
